This is a Thunderbird add-on that may be used to generate Spam Complaints for all of your "Junk" mail. Spam Complaints assist system administrators and Internet Service Providers in identifying users and viruses that abuse their email service by sending out bulk unsolicited advertisements.
Using Thunderbird you can access your mail from most mail servers including a free GMail account. With the addition of a plug-in called WebMail, you can access your SPAM from Yahoo, Hotmail, Lycos, mail.com, Libero, and AOL.
When using the program, expect lots of responses. Responses may be directed to another email account, or a mail filter can file those away from your inbox. Many responses are automated confirmations of your complaint, personal responses from system administrators, and delivery failure notices. Responses indicate that users have been warned, temporarily disconnected, a virus has been identified, a poorly configured mail server has been fixed, a compromised service has been disabled, etc... Here are some examples of Resolved Complaints.
This is a Java Graphical User Interface (GUI).
How to Install in Thunderbird
The Firefox browser may incorrectly assume this is a Firefox plug-in. After clicking on the spam_complaint-(version).xpi file, a new dialog appears prompting you to install a Firefox add-on; cancel the dialog. You'll see a "direct link" on the web page now. Right-click on the "direct link" and select "save-as" then save the file.
